At the time I thought, &#8221; I am going to have to buy some of them for me too&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I also scored what I think is a half decent price on some waterproof RGB Strips &#8211; 40m for AUD120 delivered.<\/p>\n<p>Cost estimation now sits at:<br \/>\ntomato trellis &#8211; $11<br \/>\n2.5m LED Strip &#8211; $15<br \/>\n3 or 4 Ch DMX DC Controller &#8211; $6 to $20<br \/>\nACL strobe &#8211; ~ $5 (I think ) maybe.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_521\" style=\"width: 105px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/baulkolites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Spiral-Mini-Empty.png\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-521\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-521 \" title=\"Spiral Mini Empty\" src=\"http:\/\/baulkolites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Spiral-Mini-Empty-95x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"95\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-521\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">An Open Canvas Tomato Trellis<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_522\" style=\"width: 102px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/baulkolites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Spiral-Mini-hack1.png\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-522\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-522 \" title=\"Spiral Mini hack1\" src=\"http:\/\/baulkolites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Spiral-Mini-hack1-92x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"92\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-522\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">RGB strip cable tied to trellis<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Last night I hacked one together and am happy with the results.\u00a0 The LEDs are mounted on a single side of the strips and thus are very directional.\u00a0 However there is a pleasant glow on the back side of the strips also.<\/p>\n<p>Next the Controller to be added. followed by the Strobes.\u00a0 Two Choices come to mind:\u00a0 The MIC 3ch specials would be more than adequate for the Strips.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_532\" style=\"width: 220px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/baulkolites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/DMX-512-Module-decoder-DC12V-input-P-N-LN-DMXMODEL-3CH-12V.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-532\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-532 \" title=\"DMX-512-Module-3CH-12V\" src=\"http:\/\/baulkolites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/DMX-512-Module-decoder-DC12V-input-P-N-LN-DMXMODEL-3CH-12V.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"146\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-532\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">MIC 3ch DMX<\/p><\/div>\n<p>OR my own 4ch DMX controller allowing Some Strobes to be added inside the Tree.<\/p>\n<p><div id=\"attachment_382\" style=\"width: 220px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/baulkolites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/4ChDCDMX.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-382\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-382 \" title=\"4ChDCDMX\" src=\"http:\/\/baulkolites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/4ChDCDMX-300x195.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"137\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-382\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Top View of Semi populated Controller<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nTo add Strobes, I will need to tap off +5v from the on-board regulator.
